We connect the spiral to the power supply and see if it will burn for a long time.
Unfortunately, after a while, the spiral will collapse, as it will be oxidized by oxygen, which is in the air.
But if you hide the spiral in a flask and pre-burn oxygen, the lamp will burn much longer.
