Earthquake Drill in Japan

At public schools in Japan, earthquake drills are held from once a month to twice a year depending on the school. If an earthquake happens while theyre in a classroom, the children learn to get under their desks, head first, and to hold on to the legs of the desk until the quake is over. After that the teacher leads them out of the building and calls the roll to make sure everybody is there and safe. This is practiced so that the students know what to do without thinking about it.
