Its Story Time with Michele, thanks for joining me for a lovely story read aloud! This story is about a family of fireflies that have to leave their home and search for a new place to live. The journey is challenging in different ways for each member of the family but they stick together and persevere. I like this book because its not often you find a childrens book that deals with a sad and tough situation. I think it will invite meaningful conversations with your kids afterwards about family unity in difficult moments. Also - the illustrations are stunningly beautiful! My youngest daughter wondered why they didnt just travel during the daytime, they couldve found their way easier....she didnt realize it was because they are nocturnal!! At least thats why I think they were traveling at night! What do you think?
