This is a story about my real life family.

The snow came at night, swirling and swishing.

It piled on the ground in big, whipped peaks.

In the morning, the plow could not get through.

Neither could the school bus.

"Its a snow day!"

Robby and his dog Zippy cant wait to spread the good news. But Louise wants to waste the day watching TV, Heather wants to sleep in, and Mom and Dad want to work. Only Robby and Zippy know what to do: run and kick and lick and skid in the snow. Then the fun spreads, and pretty soon the whole family is clobbering each other with snow balls.

There are lots of good parts of this book, but my favorite is Zippy, a little pooch who snazzles with energy and fun.

The illustrator of this picture book is Jennifer Plecas.
