We discovered at Toddler World TV that parents and educators want new material to add to the traditional genre of nursery rhymes. "Words Shine When They Rhyme" is an original rhyming song (nursery rhyme) for the whole family (also for preschool, nursery school, and elementary school). Its designed to build vocabulary and teach children word associations through rhyme and music. Its also meant to be fun for kids and grown-ups alike by facilitating dancing and singing.

So why rhyme? Rhyming activities help children learn to read, which is why rhyming is used in most reading programs. Research has shown that rhyming is an important component of early language acquisition. The added benefit of working with rhymes is that such "word games" are also fun for adults.
