The Highest Tribute Thurgood Marshalls Life, Leadership, and Legacy

Thurgood Marshall through perseverance and hard work changed America for the better. Brown vs. the Board of Education was a landmark case that desegregated schools. I remember learning about it and being in awe that all the adults at our high school had more or less gone to segregated schools. The impact of that case and the decision by the Chief Justice to insist on an unanimous verdict based on Thurgood Marshalls arguments paved the way for future cases arguing for equal treatment under the law.

This reading includes discussion questions and links for further research. I have also included original snippets of speeches Justice Marshall gave, so students can hear his voice.
