Note for Music Educators: My hope is that you use these videos in ways that best meet the needs of your students. If you are finding students are struggling with a play along video, consider one of these options to make their experience more enjoyable:
- Assign half of the class to read the top line, and the other half to read the bottom line. Once the activity is complete, have your students switch jobs.
- Assign students with a note value, and they only perform when their note value is highlighted (add in different levels of body percussion or unpitched instruments in this method for some pretty neat results!)
- Use YouTubes playback options to increase the tempo. 1.25x sounds great when played in a high-quality playback setting.
