Ive always wanted to share some of the inspiring biographical children s books Ive read over the years. This book, "Henrys Freedom Box" was one of the first that touched me deeply. It is painful at times but It prepares minority children for some of the realities they may face such as bigotry and shows there are ways to overcome it by using your natural ingenuity. This childrens book was written by the award winning author Ellen Levine and illustrated by the equally award winning Kadir Nelson. Enjoy, learn and be inspired by this great true story.
