Music recorded at Bow Lane Studio, Dublin, Republic of Ireland 1997
(these songs are from an ancient tradion and are known as "sean nos" songs)
A mixture of ethereal electronic beats with Gaelic harp, vocalist/harpist Emer Kenny was born in Dublin, from College of Music in Dublin and the Trinity College of Music in London, Kenny became involved in writing music for Dublins live theaters. Appearances on television attracted the attention of Dublins media and eventually the U.K. branch of the Mercury label. They issued her self-titled debut in 1997 with guest spots from Secret Garden violinist Fionnuala Sherry and original Chieftains percussionist Peadar Mercier. Her version of the Stranglers "Golden Brown" drew much airplay and attention, while the albums "Heaven" became the soundtrack to television commercials on both sides of the Atlantic and stormed up worldwide dance charts.
Lyrics:
Title : Heaven
Heaven is of the earth
Heaven is of the sea
Heaven is you and me
Heaven, Heaven, Heaven
If only we could see
Heavens dream is here
Would we spoil Heaven
With greed and with fear
Heaven, Heaven, Heaven
Heaven is of the earth
Heaven is you and me
Heaven is here
If only we could see
