ROCO launched its 2016–2017 season with a program entitled “Dance Like No One’s Watching”. Led by conductor Mei-Ann Chen, with Scott St. John returning as concertmaster, the program featured the world premiere of Jennifer Higdons Dance Card, with Fanny Mendelssohn’s Overture in C Major, Mikhail Glinka’s Kamarinskaya, Dmitri Shostakovich’s Ballet Suite No. 2 for Orchestra, and the “Song” and “Intermezzo” from Kodály’s “Háry János Suite” with Chester Englander as soloist on cimbalom.
