We recently asked the children about the things they are missing these days while spending much of their time at home, and we all feel like we’ve been waiting so long for some of our favorite spaces to reopen. The book “Waiting” by Kevin Henkes is illustrated with lovely muted colors and written with simple text as it tells the tale of toys looking out the window and waiting. With a title we can all relate to, opportunities for counting practice, and an invitation to discuss concepts like waiting and missing, we hope you and your child enjoy today’s read aloud!
