OUR STORY: FALL AROUND ME

I look around and what do I see,

I see fall all around me.

I see a squirrel.

The squirrel is gathering food to prepare for winter.

I see apples.

Some people pick apples at an orchard in fall.

I see a pumpkin.

We can make a jack o lantern, or a pumpkin pie.

I see a scarecrow.

He helps keep the birds from eating the crops!

I see leaves.

They change colors and fall to the ground.

I see evergreen trees.

These are special trees, because their leaves are always green.

I see fall - it’s all around me.

When you see fall, what do you see?

Why is read aloud important?

"The U.S. Department of Education Commission on Reading took into account over 10,000 studies and found that the most important activity for building the skills and background for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children."

At Mr. Corder’s Kid Books Read Aloud, I try and find the most exciting and interesting books for kids. Reading is one of the most important skills for children in preschool, kindergarten, first and second grade to develop (and in the higher grades of course). Read Aloud kids books are just another way to help students develop this love for reading!
