First determine the topic of the text

Here are some pointers in case you are perplexed

Read the title and check the pictures, too

Look for repeated words to see if there’s a clue

When you know the topic then you can consider

What’s the big idea the author has delivered?

Can summarize the entire thing?

What is the overarching lesson of the writing?

Now you’re ready to go give it a try

Figure out the the topic, tell us what it does and why

You can do it! Stand up and give a cheer!
